What makes us different from the person next to us? In what areas do you stand out? Do you know how to relate to the differences found? What feelings become surfaced when these differences are brought to awareness- judgement? fear? rejection? 'Strangers in the Dark' (2022) was a piece done to illuminate these themes. With the effects of Covid-19 still lingering, attacking the nations ability to relate and connect, it aims to make the viewer feel lonely and heavy, yet less isolated and targeted. Each figure was created the same; same stokes, same paint, same placement, same scratch out. The difference in colors (yellow v brown v blue) are not significant other than color scheme. However, cane be interpreted as different entities.
